About Newslog

A fast, light, opinionated daily read on Tech, AI and the money behind them.

What it is

Newslog has two parts. The live page updates all day with the ten stories getting the most coverage right now, under the publishers’ own headlines. Every weekday at 8 AM Eastern (ET), the daily issue locks in the morning’s top stories, each boiled down to a sentence or three, plus a few good reads. It lands in your inbox and stays in the archive. The story of how it started is in Issue No. 0.

The daily issue

Every weekday at 8 AM ET, Newslog sends one short email: the morning’s ten most important stories in Tech, AI and Money, each in a sentence or three with a link to the original reporting. The biggest ones get a plain line on why they matter. A one-line note on how the market closed follows the money stories, and “Also worth your time” adds a few good reads beyond the headlines. It takes a few minutes to read, and then you’re caught up.

It’s free, there are no ads, and we don’t track what you open or click. There’s no issue on weekends, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day or the Fourth of July. Every issue is also on the site, in the archive, if you’d like a look first.

Get it every weekday at 8 AM ET.

How ranking works

We read a few dozen news sources, group articles that cover the same story, and rank each story by how many sources are covering it, weighted for freshness and importance. A story needs at least one newsroom covering it to rank, and the top five need at least two. Each story gets one tag: AI, Tech or Money. Movement arrows show how a story has moved since the last update.

Sources

Headlines on the live page are the publishers’ and companies’ own, and every story links straight to the original reporting or the company’s own announcement. The summaries in the daily issue are ours. We never copy article text, use publisher images or get around paywalls. Money coverage is about the business of tech, not stock prices or market data. The exceptions are on the Money tab: a one-sentence note on how the market closed, after 4 PM ET, and a Bitcoin price card when the price makes a big move.

A small green lock after a source’s name or a link means that site has a paywall: you may need a subscription, or it lets you read only a few free articles a month.

The Blogs tab

The Blogs tab has its own feed. It lists the 20 newest posts from independent writers, newest first, with the writer’s own first sentence or two, and refreshes every hour.

Blog posts are never ranked and never count toward the live page or the daily issue. The ranking measures how many newsrooms are covering a story, and one person’s post is a different kind of thing: in that contest it would almost never show up, and when it did, it would crowd out the news. Keeping blogs on their own tab lets both be what they are. So if a post you liked isn’t in the top ten, that’s by design.

AI models

AI models is a running timeline of new model releases from the major AI labs, each linked to the lab’s own announcement and described in one line. We check the labs’ own channels every few minutes; big releases also get a BREAKING bar on the live page for a few hours. You can follow it by RSS.

Terms

By using newslog.app or reading its emails, you agree to these terms. We may update them at any time, and the version on this page is the current one.

Links. Newslog points you to reporting by other publishers and to companies’ own announcements. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for what they publish, their paywalls or their privacy practices.

Accuracy. Stories are grouped and ranked automatically, and the daily issue is prepared from the publishers’ headlines and descriptions, then checked by our editor. We work to get things right, but mistakes happen; tell us at info@newslog.app and we’ll correct them.

Not advice. Nothing here is financial, investment or legal advice. Market notes, the Bitcoin card and money stories report what happened; they don’t recommend buying or selling anything.

Ownership. Headlines belong to their publishers. Our summaries, the daily issue and the site’s design are ours. You’re welcome to share links and quote a line with credit; please don’t republish whole issues.

Privacy

Email. If you subscribe, we keep your email address, when and where you signed up, and whether you’ve confirmed. Issues are sent through Resend, our email provider. Issue emails don’t track opens or clicks; we only record whether an email was delivered, bounced or marked as spam, to keep the list healthy. Your address is used only to send you Newslog, and we never sell or share it. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address at info@newslog.app.

The site. There are no ads and no third-party trackers. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies or personal profiles, and Cloudflare Turnstile on the sign-up form to stop bots. The site sets three small cookies of its own: one remembers light or dark mode, and two remember if you closed an editor’s note or the quiet-news note.
